Hi everyone, does anyone here have experience with modern door technologies? I mean smart locks, phone-controlled entry, or touchless opening systems.

I’m wondering whether these solutions are actually convenient and secure for everyday use, or if they end up being more trouble than they’re worth 🙂 I’d love to hear some real opinions from people who have been using this type of setup for a while.

I’m not a technology expert, but I’ve been using a smart lock for a while now and overall I’m quite happy with it. The biggest advantage is not having to carry keys around – I can simply use my phone or a PIN code, to get into my home.On the other hand, there are occasional minor issues, such as the app taking a little longer to connect or having to remember to replace the batteries. Fortunately, I’ve never been in a situation where I couldn’t get into my home because of it.
As for security, I think that with a reputable brand and regular software updates, there’s not much, to worry about. For me, the convenience definitely outweighs the drawbacks, but I’m curious to hear about other people’s experiences after using these systems for a longer period of time.

Hi 🙂 I’ve been using a smart lock for over a year now, and for me the biggest advantage is how convenient it is when my hands are full with shopping or I’m coming home with the kids. I also like being able to give temporary access to family or visitors without handing over a physical key. I was a bit worried about reliability at first, but so far it’s been trouble-free. I still keep the backup key just in case, but I’ve never actually needed it. For everyday use, I’d definitely say the convenience has been worth it.

Hi all,
I actually went in the opposite direction. I used a smart lock for a few months, but in the end I switched back to a traditional one. The lock itself worked well, but I realized I wasn’t really using most of its features. I always had my keys with me anyway, so unlocking the door with my phone didn’t make much difference in my daily routine.
I think this kind of setup makes the most sense if you often need to let guests in, rent out your property, or simply enjoy home automation. Otherwise, it’s worth thinking about whether you’ll actually make use of what it offers. It’s a great piece of technology, but it’s not necessarily something everyone needs.
