Hi,

In my opinion, one thing that often gets overlooked is that it’s not just about a few very hot days each year, but about sleep quality and being able to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature over longer periods. In well-insulated homes, heat can build up over several consecutive days, and simply opening windows at night is not always enough.
For a long time, we managed with external blinds, ventilation, and airing the house in the evenings. It helped, but during the recent heatwaves the bedrooms still became uncomfortably warm. After installing air conditioning, the biggest benefit wasn’t even the cooler temperatures during the day—it was being able to sleep comfortably at night.
If your main concern is staying comfortable during the summer, I personally support installing air conditioning. In our case, it has worked very well, especially at night, when maintaining a pleasant bedroom temperature significantly improves sleep quality. We don’t run it every day throughout the summer, but during warmer periods it makes a real difference and helps keep the house comfortable even during extended heatwaves.
