After using different smart home devices for a few years, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s worth buying only the ones that actually solve a real problem. At first, I got a bit carried away and bought quite a few gadgets, but some of them simply stopped being interesting after a few weeks.The devices I’ve kept are the ones that work quietly in the background and don’t require me to constantly open an app. I have smart blinds, water leak sensors, and a few lighting automations, and I barely think about them—they just do their job.If I could give one piece of advice, it would be to think about which everyday tasks or situations you actually want to make easier before buying anything. That makes it much easier to choose the right devices and avoid spending money on features you probably won’t end up using.
