Hello all,For me, the deciding factor was the long-term cost. At first, a septic tank seemed like the cheaper option, but once I calculated the ongoing costs of regular pumping, service visits, and the overall hassle, a small domestic wastewater treatment system made more sense for a permanently occupied home. I’ve been using one for several years now, and apart from routine servicing and occasional sludge removal, it has required very little attention. That said, I think proper design and installation are just as important as the choice of system itself. Even a high-quality unit can cause problems if it isn’t matched to the site’s soil conditions or the number of people using it. I’d recommend investing in a proper site assessment and choosing an experienced installer rather than simply going with the lowest quote.
