I’ve had passive doors installed for over a year now, and I’m happy with the upgrade. The main thing I’ve noticed is that they don’t seem to radiate cold into the house the way my old doors did. During winter, the inside surface of the old door used to feel very cold, almost icy to the touch, whereas now the difference is quite noticeable.As for whether they’re worth the cost, I think it largely depends on the condition of your current door. If it’s old and poorly insulated, the improvement in comfort is noticeable almost immediately. That said, I wouldn’t expect huge savings on heating bills from the door replacement alone. For me, it was primarily an investment in comfort, better insulation, and eliminating drafts.
