I don’t have this type of system myself, but my neighbour had one installed a few years ago and I haven’t heard any complaints from him so far. From what he’s told me, the biggest advantage is the peace of mind—you don’t have to worry as much about having the tank emptied or dealing with unpleasant odours.
He also mentioned that it’s worth finding out about the servicing requirements from the start, as regular maintenance helps prevent problems in the future. Other than that, the system mostly runs in the background and doesn’t require much day-to-day attention.
If your property is suitable and you’re planning to stay there for many years, it seems like a sensible investment. Personally, I would probably consider this type of solution over a traditional septic tank.
