Hi everyone,We had a pivot door installed a few years ago and honestly it’s been great so far. It still feels solid and lines up properly, but I think a lot depends on the quality of the hardware and the installation.
The main thing I’d say is don’t go cheap on the pivot mechanism itself. A neighbour of ours had problems with alignment after a while, but theirs was a much cheaper setup.
For everyday use ours has been completely fine — smoother than a normal heavy front door actually. The only small downside is that they can need occasional adjustment over time, especially with larger doors.
Overall though, no regrets here. They definitely give the house a more modern look and haven’t been high maintenance for us.
