Hi, for me it all started with a smart thermostat and honestly that was probably the best decision 🙂 What I like most is being able to control the heating easily from my phone and set everything around my daily routine.

Later I added smart bulbs and a few smart plugs. They’re convenient, but in my opinion they’re more of an extra than something essential. Security cameras and motion sensors are definitely more useful in everyday life though.

Personally I think it’s best to start slowly and not try to make the whole house “smart” straight away, because after a while it can turn into more messing around with apps and updates than actual convenience 😅

I also try to stick mostly to one system, because mixing different brands can sometimes cause compatibility issues. And I’d probably avoid the cheapest devices, because friends of mine had problems with them pretty quickly or they lost support after some time.
