Short “forum user after a few years of experience” perspective:
If your priority is **everyday comfort**, then **underfloor heating wins without question**. Even temperature throughout the room, warm floors, no cold spots, and generally a more natural feeling of warmth. Over time, most people say they wouldn’t want to go back to radiators only.
As for **long-term costs**, underfloor heating usually also comes out better, but only if:
* the house is well insulated
* the system runs at low temperature (e.g. heat pump or properly tuned boiler)
* you don’t use it like radiators with constant aggressive heating
In that case, you can actually feel lower bills and more stable temperatures.
But — and this is important — **radiators still make sense because**:
* they are much cheaper to install
* they respond faster (e.g. you can heat a room in 15–20 minutes)
* they are easier to retrofit in older houses
In practice, after a few years, the conclusion is usually:
* **new build / full renovation → underfloor heating**
* **older house / limited budget → radiators**
* often the best compromise → underfloor heating downstairs + radiators upstairs
