I have pivot doors like these and honestly—nothing is happening with them. There’s really no chance of anything going wrong with normal use. The main weight is carried on the pivot (axis), so it’s a completely different and much more stable system than traditional hinges.
The company I bought them from gave me a 20-year warranty on the structure and hardware, which also says a lot. These doors can easily last for decades. In my opinion, there’s no less failure-prone construction out there.
My doors are 2.3 meters wide and 2.8 meters high, and they still operate exactly the same as they did at the beginning. They’re also very airtight—I don’t feel any drafts or cold during winter.
Honestly, I wouldn’t swap these doors for anything else.
